World Fisheries Day 2025

Government Science College, Veraval celebrated World Fisheries Day (21 Nov 2025) with a special seminar under the Knowledge Band β Saptadhara Prakalp, focusing on sustainable fisheries, marine resources, and career opportunities in marine sciences.
The event featured four distinguished scientists from CMFRI, Gir Somnath:

Principal Dr. Smita Chhag inaugurated the session, highlighting the importance of marine ecosystems and fisheries in Indiaβs economy. The scientists delivered insightful talks on:

π 40 students (16 Boys & 24 Girls) from FY, SY & TY B.Sc. enthusiastically participated through interactions, Q&A, and poster presentations.
This event deepened awareness of sustainable fisheries, strengthened collaboration with CMFRI, and motivated students to explore marine science careers.
