Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan

Government Science College, Veraval successfully hosted the "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan" on 2nd August 2026 under the directions of the Commissionerate of Higher Education, Education Department, Government of Gujarat. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Smita B. Chhag, Principal, and coordinated by Dr. Sachin M. Sitapara. The event brought together participants from various higher educational institutions of Veraval to strengthen the nationwide campaign for a drug-free India.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 20 professors and 127 students, including 65 male and 62 female students from different higher educational institutions of Veraval. During the programme, all the participants solemnly took the "Drug-Free India (Nasha Mukt Bharat) Pledge", reaffirming their commitment to staying away from substance abuse and promoting a healthy, addiction-free society. The highlight of the event was the virtual address by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who inspired the Gen-Z youth to actively contribute towards building a Nasha Mukt Bharat and realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The programme concluded with a renewed sense of responsibility among the participants to spread awareness about the harmful effects of addiction and encourage a healthy lifestyle in society. The pledge, coupled with the Prime Minister's inspiring message, motivated students and faculty members to become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat movement and reaffirmed their dedication towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, making the event highly meaningful and impactful.
