Every year on 14 August, Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is observed to commemorate the immense human suffering, displacement, and loss of lives during the Partition of India.

On 14 August, Dr. Smita Chhag, Principal of Government Science College, Veraval, Dr. Dhananjay Pandya, Har Ghar Tiranga Coordinator along with students of the college and staff members participated in the Candle March organized by the Gir Somnath District Administration.
The event served as a solemn tribute to those who lost their lives and suffered during the Partition, while reaffirming the values of unity, peace, harmony, and national solidarity.
